TANAAZ (Forever Conscious): “Intuitive Astrology Forecast — August 2018”

The energy of August 2018 is very similar to July with more retrogrades and eclipses, however by the end of the month we are going to find ourselves inspired and ready to begin a new chapter.

August kicks off still under the influence of the Blood Moon Eclipse. During the first week of August we may still feel things rising up from the depths in order to be cleared.

Emotions may also be high during the first week of August as Mars, which is still in retrograde, continues to be very active.

Mars is our inner warrior, and can help us to achieve and overcome all obstacles, but when this energy is not in balance, or when it’s met with lots of lunar energy like it is in August, it can cause us to feel restless, agitated, and even aggressive.

If there is any anger or frustration buried underneath the surface, the first week of August may lead you to get things off your chest. Even though it can be tempting, it is best to practice patience and to really think it through if you are planning on confronting someone or taking action on something.

This energy does have an impulsive feel to it, so it’s going to be important to not leap before looking. Under all of this energy, slow and steady really does win the race.

On August 7th we have Uranus going retrograde, making a total of six planets in retrograde. This is going to continue the theme we have been dealing with since July.

Having so many planets in retrograde is a sign from the Universe that we need to stop and reflect on our past before moving forward.

Uranus going retrograde may bring up issues that were occurring around May 2018, or you may receive more insights or wisdom as to something that was stirring around this time.

On August 8th we have the opening of the Lionsgate Portal, which will be activating our soul bodies and helping us to upgrade and fine tune to higher frequencies and vibrations.

Following this we also have a Solar Eclipse on August 11th in the sign of Leo. This is the most potent and influential aspect of the month and it’s going to be lighting a new path forward.

This Solar Eclipse is going to bring new opportunities that will help us to start a new chapter in our lives. It may also bring more clarity and guidance around anything that was stirred during the Blood Moon Eclipse.

In fact, this Solar Eclipse is working in partnership to the Blood Moon Eclipse, and together it is likely these two lunar events will help to bring clarity to any issues or concerns you have been having.

This Solar Eclipse is the last Eclipse for 2018, and we are going to be working with its energy until the next Eclipse season starts in January 2019.

On August 18-19th, Mercury will turn direct after being retrograde since July 25th. This is going to help things start speeding up again, but with many other planets still in retrograde, it is only going to offer a small reprieve.

The real release with all of these retrogrades comes on August 27th when Mars finally goes direct after being retrograde since the end of June.

Mars will take a few days to rev back up, but once it does we are going to feel huge waves of action and energy. In fact, September will be a great month to push forward and we are going to be feeling far more energized and awakened.

Just a day before Mars turns direct we also have the Pisces Full Moon. This is one of the most beautiful Full Moon’s of the year and has wonderful prosperous, romantic, and creative energy that we all get to enjoy.

While most of August still has this sluggish, retrograde energy that is guiding us to go back to the past, by the end of the month things are going to take a positive turn, and we are going to start feeling more energized and inspired to take that first step in the direction that has been calling our heart.

TANAAZ (Forever Conscious): “Intuitive Astrology: Retrograde Season — June-August 2018”

2018 is year to build, it is a year to start creating a solid foundation so you can manifest the life of your dreams.

Since the start of the year the cosmos has been guiding us to take action and to start building up the life we desire. We have been working hard to create security and structure, and find balance with the current direction of our lives. But come the end of June a shift is in the air, and the Universe will be asking us to slow down.

From June 26th until August 27th we are going to have up to six planets in retrograde, which is going to slow everything down. These planets include: Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, Mars, Neptune, Uranus, and Mercury.

Retrograde energy is about moving within. It is about pausing, reflecting, and working on what is already in front of you rather than reaching for anything new.

Retrogrades cause the expression of the planet to turn inwards, rather than outwards, which means we feel the effects of the planet on a different level. In some cases, we feel the planet more strongly as it’s working on a more internal, subconscious level.

It is often not until a retrograde cycle has completed that we are able to piece together what we what we have to clear in order to move forward.

During a heavy retrograde period like this, the energy of the cosmos becomes slow and instead of trying to push ahead, we have to instead look to our past and how our actions, attitudes, and beliefs are manifesting in our lives.

The Universe wants us to focus what is already on our plates and what we have already set in motion. In fact, trying to push ahead with so many planets in retrograde may make you feel that you are taking one step forward and two steps back.

Each planet gives off its own energy and vibration when in retrograde, but having so many planets retrograde at the same time may make it difficult to differentiate which is which.

Here is a short overview of each retrograde planet and the effects we may feel during this season:

Mars (June 26-August 27)

Mars is the most significant of these retrogrades as it retrogrades the least and its effects are much more noticeable. Mars retrogrades only once every 1.5 years or so, and when it does it really challenges us to assess and review the direction of our lives. Mars will retrograde through the sign of Aquarius and Capricorn, and under this energy we are going to be guided to really go over the past and to reflect on how our actions have been serving or hindering us.

Saturn (April 18-September 6)

Saturn will be retrograde in Capricorn for at least half of the year so we have time to adjust to the energies. Saturn retrograde has been guiding us to focus on what we want to take responsibility for and where we need to set boundaries in our lives. Under this energy, Saturn will really be drawing our attention to whatever we need to step up and take ownership of in order to create the life that we desire. We may have to look over our past actions, or dig through old childhood patterns in order to find our way forward.

Neptune (June 18- November 25)

Neptune is retrograde for nearly half of the year so we don’t feel these effects as strongly. We also have time to adjust to the energies. Neptune is retrograde in the sign of Pisces, and will be helping us to come to terms with our spirituality. We may have new ideas or understanding around our spirituality, or we may even feel confused about what we believe in. After turning direct, clarity usually follows and we may receive a new understanding.

Jupiter (March 9- July 10)

Jupiter retrograde will be guiding us to think about bigger, global causes and how we can make changes that impact the greater good. As Jupiter retrogrades through Scorpio, issues around sexuality and gender equality may come to the forefront. We may also be guided to assess where we need to think bigger in order to get where we want to be.

Pluto (April 22-October 2)

Pluto is also retrograde for most of the year which is why we don’t feel the effects of this retrograde as strongly. Pluto is retrograde in the sign of Capricorn and is going to be helping us to dig through any skeletons in the closet and to release them once and for all. Secrets may be revealed, or you may receive a new understanding or a new truth during this time. Pluto retrograde touches us all differently, but essentially some type of death and rebirth cycle will take place.

Mercury (July 26th-August 19)

Mercury goes retrograde every few months so its energy is nothing we aren’t used to. The effects of Mercury retrograde during this season are likely to be amplified and we may feel more out of sorts than usual. During Mercury retrograde in Leo, we may be encouraged to think about new ways to be creative. Mercury retrograde is a time to go within and uncover buried thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It is a time to also dig up any subconscious thought patterns that may be blocking us.

Uranus (August 7- January 6, 2019)

Uranus goes retrograde until 2019 through the signs of Taurus and Aries. Under this retrograde energy we are going to be clearing and wrapping up lessons from 2008, when Uranus first entered Aries. As Uranus travels out of Taurus and back into Aries, we will be given any final lessons or gifts, and we will be really encouraged to start a new chapter and a new cycle. After turning direct, Uranus in Taurus will present us with new themes and lessons for the new year.

Collectively, all of these retrograding planets and energies are going to be guiding us to consider our actions and what choices we have been making in our lives so far.

Have we been making decisions based on fear or have we been making decisions based on love?

Have we been letting people walk all over us or have we been setting firm boundaries?

Have we been speaking our truth and communicating clearly or have we been lying or avoiding the truth?

These are all things we are going to have to ponder during this period of retrograde activity.

After the end of August, things will start speeding up again and we will be able to begin taking more forward moving action.

It is also worth mentioning that Venus will go retrograde from October 5 until November 16. While this energy won’t slow things down as much as Mars Retrograde, it is a very clear sign from the Universe that we are being asked to really be in review and assessment mode for the rest of the year.

As 2018 is a year to build and establish yourself, it makes sense that we would really be encouraged to go over things and review actions we have taken so far.

We are all in the mode of preparing our foundation and building things up brick by brick. We may not be able to see the finished product just yet, but a skilled builder knows that it’s all about creating the perfect foundation and ensuring that the bottom bricks are strong enough to hold whatever is going to go on top.

Under all this retrograde energy, we are going to have to make sure we are building with integrity, with our hearts, and with our highest intentions in mind.

We are all going to be called to ensure that what we are building is aligned with our highest good.

CONSCIOUS REMINDER: “Buckle Up! It’s Going To Be A Crazy Summer With 6 Planets Going Retrograde”

The planets within our solar system are in a constant motion as they revolve around our Sun.

When we gaze into the night sky, our planets move to the East relative to the stars. However, there are times where it appears that a planet is moving in the opposite direction, to the West, and that is when a planet is referred to as moving retrograde.

Retrograde motion is when a planet appears, when observed from Earth, in reverse direction. The reason why this happens is that of an optical illusion caused by differences in orbit. In the realm of astrology, the retrograde motion has severe negative connotations.

As Mercury is the planet said to rule communication, those who are astrologically inclined expect frequent misunderstandings, scheduling problems and disagreements with friends during this period. It enters apparent retrograde motion between three and four times a year, for about three weeks at a time.

This is because Mercury is the fastest revolving planet in our Solar System. Seven out of the nine planetary energies go retrograde. The two luminaries, the Sun and the Moon, can never go retrograde.

1. Pluto in Retrograde

The planet Pluto will continue retrograding till the 30th of September and it showers a real sense of direction on people while retrograding. It helps you to get over all your pains, sufferings and difficulties in life by making you more determined. It increases your ability to self-heal and recover from the wounds by increasing your willpower.

2. Saturn in Retrograde

Saturn has been retrograding for a while now and it will keep on doing so till the 6thof September. The revolving motion of the planet Saturn in an opposite directed has a direct connection with karma. While Saturn is in retrograde, people’s past will confront them and they will have to right the wrongs if they want to move forward with their lives.

3. Jupiter in Retrograde

Jupiter will continue to be in retrograde for some time and it comes out of retrograde on the 10th of July, which is a lot sooner than Pluto and Saturn. Although the energies coming out of Jupiter is not as valuable as the ones from Pluto and Saturn. But it is still very imperative.

4. Neptune in Retrograde

Neptune is yet to be in retrograde. Neptune will start revolving backward from the 18th of June and will stop on the 24th of November. It is a plant of life and positive energies but is also brings back people’s past and if they don’t confront their past, it may cause karmic repercussions.

5. Mars in Retrograde

Mars is yet to be in retrograde. It starts on the 26th of June and Mars will be in retrograde until the 27th of August. Mars is a very promising plant and it brings along with it a source of astonishing energy that mankind has never felt before.

6. Mercury in Retrograde

Mercury is yet to be in retrograde. It starts in the month of July and will not stop its motion before the 18th of August. The backward revolving motion of Mercury brings along with it a lot of sadness and grief. It makes people confront the things that they were hiding from, drawing them out to the light.

TANAAZ (Forever Conscious): “Intuitive Astrology: The Retrograde Effect April 2017”

retrograde-effect-2017.jpg

Every so often we have a line up of planets that enter into retrograde mode at the same time.

When a planet is in retrograde, it begins operating with more of a “feminine” energy rather than a “masculine” energy. In many ways, it is like the planet is charged up using Lunar energies rather than Solar energy.

When a planet is in retrograde, it exudes a more intuitive energy and works on the subconscious mind rather than the conscious mind. When a planet is in retrograde, it dips below the surface of the seen world into the hidden world.

Many astrologers believe that a retrograde planet is not functioning at its best, but I believe that the opposite is true. When a planet goes retrograde, it is functioning on an even higher level as it is activating our subconscious mind rather than our conscious mind.

Our subconscious mind is much more powerful than our conscious mind and drives and directs more of our behaviour, personality and dreams than we realize.

When a planet goes retrograde, it travels within and starts exuding its effects on a subconscious level. It is almost like a retrograding planet has the ability to bring the subconscious into the conscious.

When a planet is retrograde, usually we feel out of sorts and all over the place, which is why people generally associate retrogrades as being negative.

Retrogrades are not negative, they simply shift us around so we can get back into alignment.

Retrograde energy is also highly feminine and in these patriarchal times, on a subconscious level, many of us struggle to accept and integrate feminine energy into our every day lives.

Retrogrades are powerful and magical times, which is why when many planets shift into retrograde at the same time, it can have a profound effect on us.

In April 2017, a total of 5 planets will be retrograde including- Venus, Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto.

These planets each have their own retrograde cycle, however the combination of their energy in April 2017 in particular, is likely to be significant.

In a nutshell, when so many planets go retrograde it typically represents a time to slow down and to go with the flow, rather than trying to take action.

When so many planets are in retrograde, it is a time to tune into and work with your feminine energy, rather than your masculine energy.

Masculine energy is all about taking action, making plans and shifting forward. Masculine energy rules over the seen and physical world as well as the physical body.

Masculine energy also rules over data, facts, figures, the ego mind and all of the other things we need to navigate through this physical world.

We of course, need masculine energy as it helps us survive, thrive and get things done, but we also need feminine energy.

Feminine energy is creative energy, it is about exploring the world using your sixth sense and about understanding the unseen worlds. If masculine energy is about the physical body, feminine energy is about the emotional or etheric body.

Feminine energy also rules over emotions, feelings, intuition and our connection with others, nature and the planet.

We cannot operate in this world with only one of these energies. We need both, just like we need both sides of the brain, as together they create the harmony and balance that will support us through life.

As a society however, masculine and feminine energies are very much out of balance, and so when the planets start operating in a retrograde motion, we really feel the effects.

The selection of planets moving retrograde in 2017 all carry a similar theme. Even though we are being asked to slow down and go with the flow, we are also being asked to question where we operate our lives from.

Many of us operate life from the position of our mind, but perhaps there is more value in operating from the position of your heart.

The theme of this retrograde effect is really due to Venus, who retrogrades the most infrequently of any other planet. This makes her retrograde cycle one of the most potent.

Here is a summary of the planets retrograde and their effects-

Venus: Venus is retrograding to help awaken our hearts on a deeper level. She has been retrograde since March 4th and will leave retrograde on April 15th, 2017. You can read more about Venus retrograde here.

Mercury: Mercury is retrograding to help bring a voice to everything we have learnt during our heart awakening instilled by Venus. Mercury will be guiding us to activate the energy center of our throat so we can communicate the messages from our heart clearly and concisely. Mercury will retrograde from April 9th to May 3rd, 2017.

Jupiter: Jupiter retrograde is helping us to re-evaluate our goals and to think about why we are doing what we are doing. Jupiter retrograde also helps you to go back to old projects with new ideas. Jupiter retrograde is a time to find success by doing things differently and following your intuition. Jupiter is retrograde from February 6th to June 9th, 2017.

Saturn: Saturn will go retrograde on April 16th and will be guiding us to step up and take responsibility for the choices we have made. Saturn will be asking us to claim back our power and will help us to uncover subconscious blocks or patterns that are holding us back. Saturn will go direct on August 25th, 2017.

Pluto: Pluto will go retrograde on April 20th and will be guiding us to really uncover the skeletons hidden in our closet. Pluto will also be guiding us to make changes and to transform our lives to a new level of power. Pluto works on such a deep, subconscious level that we are likely to not even understand or comprehend the influence of Pluto. Pluto moves direct on September 28th, 2017.

As a general rule of thumb, when planets furthest from the Sun like, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto go retrograde we are likely not to feel it as much. This is because these planets are already operating on a subconscious level most of the time.

It is the planets closest to the Sun, like Venus and Mercury, that we feel the effects of the most. When one of these planets go retrograde, we are more likely to have the awareness to notice.

When any planet goes retrograde, it is generally a time of self reflection and to explore the deeper, and more profound thoughts of the subconscious mind.

Activities like journalling, spending time in nature and creative projects are great ways to make use of this retrograde time.

Also, try your best to go with the flow rather than creating expectations for yourself and others.

The more you can go with the flow and allow the energies to guide you, the more you trust in whatever the Universe brings for you, the easier your life will be.

JAMIE PARTRIDGE: “Mercury Retrograde April 2017 — Heart or Mind”

12123503 - planet with nebulos filaments

Mercury retrograde April 2017 starts on April 9 at 4° Taurus and ends on May 3 at 24° Aries.

Mercury retrograde April 2017 will cause some confusion and indecision about very serious matters. If problems with love or money are the issue then your options will be severely restricted.

You may be subject to intense pressure to choose between your heart and your mind. Mercury retrograde from April 9 to May 3 is not a good time for final decisions so hold out if you can. Mercury direct from May 3 to 20 brings clear insight and exciting new opportunities.

Before I go into more detail about Mercury retrograde April 2017, I will talk about what it means to have Mercury retrograde in your natal chart then the general meaning of Mercury retrograde in transit.

Mercury Retrograde Meaning

Natal Mercury retrograde means there was a problem with how you thought and communicated in a previous life. Perhaps you gave someone bad advice that had critical repercussions, or were prone to making costly mistakes. Maybe you wrote slanderous material about someone in a book or newspaper, or verbally teased and abused people.

Whatever the circumstances of the previous significant incarnation, you come into this life with those bad memories etched in your soul. You probably don’t recognize them as memories but as déjà vu or unexplained guilt. Especially when young, there can be a repeating theme of challenging events related to your past.

The aim of Mercury retrograde in your birth chart is for you to perfect those areas of thought and communication which once let you down. As your communication skills improve with experience, your karmic debt will be repaid and you can get off the roundabout.

Mercury retrograde in your natal chart can show as learning difficulties, especially with reading, writing and comprehension. You may be a shy, quite person whose thoughts have turned inward. Hesitant to speak up for yourself, you may miss out on many opportunities in life. This difficulty in expressing yourself can make you feel awkward in company and lead to low self-esteem. You may experience teasing or verbal abuse, be nagged and criticized, or fall victim to slander and lies. Contracts may also cause problems and like so many things, lead to complications further down the track.

Mercury retrograde only last for about three weeks so Mercury is going to turn direct at some stage in your progressed chart (where one day equals one year). After a couple of years you will notice that your communication style improves and you can express yourself more freely. However, the opposite can also occur and someone with Mercury direct in their natal chart may experience progressed Mercury retrograde later in life. I experienced this from age 13 to 37 and it was very profound. I even stopped reading books.

If you have Mercury retrograde in your natal or progressed chart then you can expect to make more rapid progress during transits of Mercury retrograde.

Transiting Mercury retrograde is a regular cycle occurring three or four times a year for about 24 days. While this is more frequent than any other planet, Mercury is still only retrograde 19% of the time. This is far less than Jupiter outwards, but more than Venus and Mars.

The Mercury retrograde phase is just one part of the Mercury retrograde cycle. The whole cycle includes Mercury going direct, retrograde, and direct again over the same degrees, or the retrograde zone. The two direct phases are called the shadow periods.

Mercury retrograde is associated with communication and technology breakdowns, nervous anxiety, travel delays and lost items. There is a feel of a difficult Mercury–Saturn aspect about Mercury retrograde. You can also expect to dwell on things, reminisce about the past, or unexpectedly meet up with people from your past. While the Mercury retrograde period may be good for flicking through old photo albums, it is generally considered more of a nuisance than a benefit.

Mercury retrograde can play havoc with your thoughts, communications, travels and electronics. Take extra care with your words and try not to react too quickly in any arguments or if provoked. Take some time out if you start to feel overwhelmed by the hectic pace. Double-check all of your emails and posts on Facebook before hitting the send button.

Business negotiations will be in a state of flux during Mercury retrograde so avoid signing contracts. Some important details will not yet be available, and other parties may not be reliable or honest. If going on a road trip then make sure you get your car serviced beforehand.

The riskiest times for decision-making, negotiations, communication and transport are the few days either side of the exact retrograde and direct stations. However, care should still be taken during the whole retrograde period.

Mercury Retrograde April 2017

March 27, 2017, Mercury enters shadow zone at 24°15′ Aries.

From now until when Mercury stations retrograde is called the first shadow period. During this phase you will get an idea of the thinking, communication or transport issues that may be of concern during the retrograde phase. [See Chart]

April 9, 2017, Mercury stations retrograde at 4°50′ Taurus.

Stationary Mercury retrograde at 4°50′ Taurus makes only one significant aspect as shown in the chart below. Moon quincunx Mercury is the major influence on Mercury retrograde April 2017. A weak trine to North Node and a fixed star conjunction add very little to the quincunx.

Moon quincunx Mercury creates some confusion around thinking and decision-making. The problem is knowing whether to trust your heart or your mind. Mercury is the rational mind while Moon is the emotional heart. This can show as hesitation, unreliability, confusion or disinterest.

If you feel balanced and not stressed about making a decision, you will naturally think with your head. An example of this Mercury decision-making process would be chosing between two apples to eat.

If you are emotionally attached to either option or feel pressured in some way, you are more likely to think with your heart. An example of this Moon decision-making process would be chosing a birthday present for your mother.

The trick is to take a little bit of this and a little bit of that. A balanced approach brings the best results. However, that’s easier said than done with Mercury retrograde. The chart below also reveals a number of challenging red aspects and more retrograde planets. These additional challenges reinforce the need to play it safe, especially in relationships.

Mercury Retrograde April 2017

Venus square Saturn reinforces the need to defer major decisions about your love life and finances. It can add stress to intimate relationships due to negative feelings, distance or other relationships problems. Most of these hindrances will stem from your own fears or criticisms, but you may face the same from others.

Venus retrograde means your love life enters a fated period. Giving and receiving love and affection becomes more difficult. Old friends or lovers may reappear or you may relive past life experiences in order to sort out karmic issues.

Saturn retrograde is a double dose of karma. If you have been bad in the past, then at a certain predestined time, an event will occur to teach you a lesson. If you been good in the past, then at a predestined time, an event will occur to reward you for your good deeds.

The T-Square aspect pattern involving Sun, Jupiter and Pluto indicates a lot of pressure being placed on you to make important decisions. Ego’s will be on the line leading to threats, intimidation and ruthless behavior.

Sun opposite Jupiter brings opportunities for success, good fortune and increased happiness. However, letting any good fortune go to your head can result in loss, embarrassment and a lowering of self-esteem.

Sun square Pluto increases your need to be in control, but can also lead to ego conflicts with powerful people or authority figures. A crisis or conflict makes for an intense experience or destructive behavior.

Jupiter square Pluto brings an intense drive to reach the top. Success, power and influence are all possible but without some care there will be a price to pay. Ruthless determination, greed and corruption may get you there quicker or make you richer but at what cost?

Mercury retrograde is already a risky time for making important decisions. The numerous challenges mentioned above increase the risk of making the wrong decision. Playing for extra time during Mercury retrograde April 2017 is advised. At the very least, get a second opinion on any business negotiations, contacts, plans and most especially love relationships.

May 3, 2017, Mercury stations direct at 24°15′ Aries.

This second shadow period lasts until Mercury leaves the retrograde zone on May 20. Areas of life that were a major focus during the Mercury retrograde 2017 phase can now be worked on.

Mercury direct joins Uranus and forms a wonderful grand trine aspect pattern. The depressing life obstacles of Mercury retrograde April 2017 can now be overcome, resolved or left behind.

Mercury conjunct Uranus stimulates your thinking and adds excitement to your daily interacts and routines. The electrifying influence on your brain makes this an ideal time for any mental or creative work requiring originality. Increased open-mindedness and intuition can lead to flashes of insight and breakthroughs.

Mercury Retrograde 2017

Moon trine Saturn gives the patience and emotional strength to handle sensitive or difficult relationship issues. Others may come to you for advice on a personal issue or just for a shoulder to cry on. Traditional values and old habits can bring solutions to new problems.

Moon trine Mercury lets you see things clearly. Your feeling, intuitive side is balanced with your rational thought processes to give acute perceptive skills. You can read others easily and quickly assess any situation. Your are in touch with your own feelings to give sound judgement and decision-making skills.

Mercury trine Saturn is good for studying and catching up on your paperwork and bills. Sustained mental work will not seem so boring at usual. Good concentration and attention to detail means you will not make mistakes. You will get things done neatly and on time.

A grand trine requires conscious effort to unlock the good fortune held within. You cannot rely on lucky breaks to solve your problems. Higher self-awareness of your thought processes is required to let go of karmic baggage. Even if you made wrong choices during Mercury retrograde 2017, you can rapidly turn your life around for the better during Mercury direct.

May 20, 2017, Mercury leaves the shadow zone at 4°50′ Taurus to complete the second cycle of Mercury retrograde 2017. [See Chart]

If Mercury retrograde 2017 affects your decan it will be mentioned in your monthly horoscope. For more detail on how Mercury retrograde aspects your birth chart, see Mercury Transits.
