TULSI GABBARD: “If Our Leaders Fail Us Now, The Country We Love Will No Longer Exist”

“President Biden, I call upon you and all members of Congress from both parties to denounce these efforts by the likes of Brennan and others to take away our civil liberties endowed to us by our Creator and guaranteed in our Constitution. If you don’t stand up to these people now, then our country will be in great peril. Your leadership is needed now to denounce those like John Brennan & Rep Schiff who are advocating for targeting half the country as potential domestic terrorists. Truly unite the American people around our Constitution & the rights that are endowed to us by our Creator.”

TULSI GABBARD: “Assange, Snowden and Exposing Abuses of Power”

In 1971, Daniel Ellsberg leaked the Pentagon Papers, exposing lies and war crimes committed by the U.S. Government intended to escalate the war in Vietnam. He became the first person charged as a source for violating the Espionage Act.

In 2010, Julian Assange and WikiLeaks released cables and documents showing war crimes against civilians in the Middle East.

And in 2013, Edward Snowden leaked thousands of documents, opening the nation’s eyes to the illegal and unconstitutional mass surveillance of Americans by security agencies.

All three of these brave whistleblowers took great personal risk to hold those in power accountable for their actions. Yet, all three have been prosecuted under the Espionage Act — a law written in 1917 that prevents those accused under it from having a fair day in court.

But as we have clearly seen time and time again, the First Amendment and a free press are fundamental to forming a more perfect union. This freedom must be fiercely protected, not undermined.

This is why Tulsi introduced H.R. 8452, the Protect Brave Whistleblowers Act, which would allow whistleblowers like Daniel Ellsberg, Julian Assange, and Edward Snowden to have a fair day in court by allowing them to defend their actions and state their motivations in a legal defense. She also called for the charges against Edward Snowden and Julian Assange to be dropped immediately with bipartisan House Resolutions 1162 and 1175.

Let’s stand with Tulsi and urge Congress to stand up for the American people, stand up for our freedoms, give these brave Whistleblowers a fair day in court, and pass this critical legislation now.

‘WAR ON TERROR’ EASY AS 1-2-3 ~ Caitlin Johnstone on “The Greatest Scam Ever Invented”

“There is simply no doubt whatsoever that the ‘War On Terror‘ does the exact opposite of what it purports to do in every conceivable way.  This is an utterly and indisputably established fact.  Perhaps the single greatest scam ever devised is the way the U.S. centralized empire found that it can kill and displace people in geostrategically crucial and resource-rich regions under the guise of fighting terrorism, then when violence and extremism inevitably arises out of that mass-scale trauma they can use it to justify even more interventionism under the guise of fighting terrorism.  It’s an endless self-reinforcing positive feedback loop of violence, and it enables imperialist forces to move ever more troops, bases and war machinery into the areas they need to lock down to help them choke off nations that disobey them.  So why does it continue, then?  Why is this mass-scale project of intervention and occupation not just continuing but actually escalating, despite the fact that we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that all it does is create more misery, displacement and terrorism?  Easy: because that’s exactly what it’s designed to do.  Step 1: Destroy nations and displace tens of millions of people.  Step 2: Wait for some of those people to hate you and want to fight back.  Step 3: Use their desire to fight back as justification to repeat Step 1.  And the oil keeps flowing.  And the money keeps stacking.  And the beat goes on.  We are ruled by monsters.”

‘US PERPETUAL WAR MACHINE’ ~ Matt Agorist on “Just 3% of What the US Spends Destroying Countries Could End Starvation — On the Entire Planet”

“It was reported this week that the Pentagon made $35 trillion — with a ‘T’ — in accounting adjustments in 2019 alone. That number is larger than the entire U.S. economy and is up from $30.7 trillion in 2018. Naturally, no one cares and Pentagon officials dismiss this black hole of spending as accounting errors. This problem is only getting worse too. Imagine running a company in which you accounted for spending like they do at the Pentagon. If you were the CFO, you’d be fired, if and only if the entire business didn’t already collapse. However, because these morons have an unlimited pool of tax revenue and Federal Reserve dollars from which to draw resources, they are allowed to continue down this unaccountable path toward unsustainable debt and spending. In the meantime, Democrats and Republicans alike remain silent as questioning the military industrial complex is akin to a thought crime. The war machine must go on and continue to expand or else they’ll find themselves out of a job. The majority of Americans follow the same code of silence when it comes to military spending. Boobus Americanus sits back in his recliner as his grandchildren’s future is squandered by mass murderers dropping million dollar bombs on people living in tents on the other side of the planet — for ‘freedom’ — of course. The problem is so bad, that these warmongers have ‘lost’ $58,386 per second since 9/11. Those of us not blinded by the propaganda and false patriotism, see the inevitable results of such a propensity for supporting war. We see domestic infrastructure crumbling, a national debt increasing by record amounts each year, more conflict around the globe, and countless veterans suffering from PTSD. When will it all end? At this pace, it won’t end until the empire falls. The United Nations has said that $30 billion per year could end hunger on earth. As of 2019, the annual Pentagon base budget, plus war budget, plus nuclear weapons in the Department of Energy, plus Homeland Security and other military spending totaled well over $1 trillion — not counting what’s ‘lost.’ 3% of $1 trillion = $30 billion. So, 3% of U.S. military spending could end starvation on earth. With the globe spending roughly $2 trillion per year on militarism (roughly half of it by the United States), we can also say that 1.5% of GLOBAL military spending could end starvation on earth. Are you ready to end all war yet? We are.”
